    * Our remanufactured vacuum pumps carry a full one (1) year warranty, the same as a new pump. Each pump is meticulously disassembled and inspected for signs of previous problems or excessive wear. They are then thoroughly cleaned in a “hot tank” with a proprietary solution prior to reassembly. Pumps are assembled by factory trained technicians using the specific manufacturers rebuild kits, which includes new vanes, springs, seals and gaskets. Other “normal wear” items such as drive belts, rubber floor pads, etc. are also replaced with new parts. During assembly the manufacturers specified clearances are checked and set using the appropriate assembly fixtures (where applicable) to guarantee correct assembly and to ensure trouble-free, efficient operation and long service life.

WHY USE A BELT DRIVE PUMP INSTEAD OF DIRECT DRIVE?

Although SVP offers both belt drive and direct drive vacuum pumps, we are strong proponents of Welch Belt Drive Vacuum Pumps for several reasons. Belt drive pumps operate at a lower RPM compared to direct drive pumps - generally 400-600 RPM vs. 1600-1800 RPM. A lower RPM provides longer service life, cooler operation, less oil vapor backstreaming and a better ultimate vacuum. As a general rule, belt drive pumps have a larger oil capacity than a direct drive pump with the same free air displacement. This also helps cooling and provides a higher tolerance for water vapor, which is by far the main gas load when processing luminous tubing. Belt drive pumps may also be helpful in eliminating bombarder flashback problems. The pump module and drive motor can be removed from the metal pump base and mounted on a non-conducting base thereby eliminating the ground path between the pump module and grounded drive motor. This is not possible with direct drive pumps as the drive motor is an integral part of the pump module.

WHY WELCH BELT DRIVE VACUUM PUMPS?

The quality and reputation of Welch belt drive vacuum pumps is second to none. Their belt drive series of pumps are the vacuum industry’s most respected pumps. For decades they have been the backbone of high and ultra high vacuum systems in some of the most demanding applications for good reason: There is not a better belt drive vacuum pump made. They are true workhorses by any standard.
